About Zia ur Rehman

Zia started his career in 2010 and has worked on the hardware, firmware and data side of connected systems ever since. His work sits where industrial machines meet the cloud: reading sensors and legacy protocols at the edge, and turning them into data that people can act on.

From 2012 to 2022 he worked at VectraCom in Karachi, rising from System Engineer to System Engineering Manager. There he led a UAV platform, an indigenous smart home product line, and a range of Industry 4.0 monitoring devices for factories. As an independent IoT consultant from 2022, he completed 50+ projects for clients worldwide, including shipboard telemetry for the Port of Tyne in the UK. Since 2024 he has been IoT Solutions Architect at Conure Technology Services, leading smart parking and signage systems.

He holds an M.Eng in Microsystem Design from NED University and a B.E. in Electronics from Dawood University (DUET), where he graduated first in his department. He has also taught electronics, control and mechatronics at DUET and NCUK.
